A colleague of mine pointed me to an interesting article on how to handle large volumes of email on mailing lists. The approach that is outlined in it is based on the concept of < a href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Topic_thread">topic‑threading.

I have been trying out the technique for a few days now, and it seems to work pretty well. Definitely worth to check out if you are on one or more high‑volume mailing lists.
